Each week we take a close look at comic book collectibles. When it comes to action figures, it's sometimes hard to really know how cool they are unless you actually open the package. DC Collectibles has been putting out action figures for the New 52 version of the Justice League. We have already looked at Batman, Aquaman and Green Lantern & the Flash. To try to catch up with the releases so far, this week we'll look at Wonder Woman and Cyborg.

    No Caption Provided

These are each sold separately and retail for $22.95. You can get them from DC's online shop or from a local comic shop (which is where I got these two).

The boxes have the same peel away design as the previous editions and the back has a brief bio on the characters.

We'll take a look at Wonder Woman first because "ladies first."

    No Caption Provided

Wonder Woman is a character worthy of respect and it's great that a figure was made for her. Too often we see the female characters get overlooked in terms of action figures because some believe we don't want action figures of female characters. You can't and shouldn't have a Justice League set without her.

She comes with her sword and lasso. The lasso is not removable but is pliable. Because of her hair, her head is a little limited in how much you can move it. You can turn it a little, just not as much as the other figures. Her hair style sometimes looks a little odd, depending on the angle. But overall, it's a great looking figure and as solid as the others in the line.

The only complaint I'd have is the sculpt for her chest. Yes, we are talking about a female comic book character but it's just a tad too much. Maybe I'm the only one that would complain over their slight unnatural look?

We'll see a couple more shots of Wonder Woman. Let's take a look at Cyborg now.

    No Caption Provided

Cyborg is a very solid figure. He has a bit of weight to him. That's the great thing about these, they're made with some quality to them and you don't feel like they're going to break if you try putting them in different positions.

Cyborg has a mix of being simple yet still having the detail he should have. Looking at his feet, clearly there won't be any problems getting him to stand in different poses.

His left hand is removable and he comes with his canon arm just in case they need to face an enemy.

If you've been buying these figures, of course you'll want to get these two as well. There is a box set with the seven and it's actually cheaper than buying them individually.

That's it for this week. There are still a couple more figures in this line to look at. You can expect to see them in the coming weeks. I'll give you a hint, one of them will not be Superman since he is currently only available in the box set. He isn't available separately until February, which is unfortunate.

G-Man, I didn't notice Wonder Woman's chest looking "fake" until I saw the profile shot. If they took away some of the top of the cleavage there, so it was less spherical it might look more "natural." On the one hand, compression of the bust by her top might have that same effect on a real woman with a natural bust. I'm no expert.

What bothered me was her head. First her eyes seemed... not DERPY but off. I can't tell if they look half closed, or like she's got a lazy eye… or two lazy eyes… Even for an action figure, she looked a little dead in the eyes. And an even more minor note, her hair seemed weird. To much volume in some places, and it doesn't fall the same way it does in either JL, or Wondy's solo book.

Not digging Wonder Woman at all. Her haircut looks to 80's and doesn't quite look feminine enough for my liking.

Cyborg is much better, but he looks a little older than I think he should. He's supposed to be a high school student.

Wonder Woman looks great, but I promised myself to not buy any action figures unless it's for my toy stories, or if I want it REALLY, really bad. So, I think I'll pass.

I have a question. These figures have been my first foray on collecting action figures. So far, I own them all (Darkseid has been ordered from DC online and my local shop is getting Superman in this Wednesday -early!). I have also seen the complete box set, and like Tony says, it is cheaper than buying them all individually. My question is: if I wanted to keep some in package for collecting purposes and wanted to take others out for entertainment, which one do I open? The complete box set or the individual figures. Which one is more the collectible and which one would be more acceptable to open and play with? Thoughts, Tony and compatriots?

I think they showed incredible restraint with Wonder Woman's assets actually. I bought a Black Cat action figure when I was a kid and you could have poked yours eyes out with those things. They were obscene.

Just picked up the box set with all 7 figures in it. I love it. Personally, I think it looks great displayed as is in the box. I'm saving up for Darkseid and the Parademon. 90 bucks for Darkseid is steep but I think its cool as $#!+.....

Can't afford to collect figures but dang if these all don't look great. Finally, Cyborg looks badass instead of sporting that "white lingerie" costume. Ugh.

I am one of those who likes Wonder Woman's new look, but my one gripe is the "ribbed" lines on the costume, could do without that but it is a very minor complaint. The figure looks wonderful. Pun intended.

Wow, these are pretty cool. I haven't bought these just yet. I do regret buying them individually before I knew they were going to be sold as a set. I already have Batman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Flash. So, I'm too invested in them already!! :-/

all in all DC did a good job with these, except for Batman all those seams and lines just make the figure too "techy" looking. My faves are Flash, Aquaman and GL. WW and Cyborg ok looking.

Is it just me, or does Wonder Woman have an 80's hairstyle thing going on in this figure?

@RoTheKid: If it's any consolation, the 7 figure set does have slight differences than the individual figures. For example, in the box set, Cyborg is missing the canon arm and Superman's head is different than the one that will be released individually. Also, I can't tell but I don't think Wonder Woman has her sword either...

All the joints on Wonder Woman really make her look too toy-ish. Too bad they couldn't somehow cover up atleast the holes on her elbows and knees.
