NO MORE ECLIPSO!
Justice League of America #58
To be honest I have been TOLERATING this story arc I haven't been exactly enjoying it. So I'm hoping this story is coming to a close soon! So basically this issue is just the League still trying to fight Eclipso and anyone under his control. They devise a plan for the atom and Starman to get shot into the Shades head so they can stop Eclipso's influence on him. The issue ends with Donna using everything she has to try and defeat Eclipso but he simply stabs her in the chest and breaks her lasso. It seems that she's dead.
The GOOD!
I do like to see this team work together and I like seeing their ideas and plans. This is probably one of the toughest battles the league has ever faced and it's cool to see this unlikely team of Justice Leaguers work together. I thought it was cool that the Atom referenced the Brave and the Bold.
Art:
to be honest I did like the art in this issue. I think Donna looked the best in it and it was a nice change from the usual Booth art.The BAD!
The ending just pissed me off so bad. I think Robinson just killed off Donna as a stunt to gain more fans. It was a way of making this already dull story arc into something exciting and heart pounding. NO all that did for me was make me angry. Donna Troy is one of my favorite comic book characters and he kills her off like it was nothing. Her lasso should not have broken so easily and she should'nt have died so easily. What I also love is that we get this dramatic inner monologue from her first about all she's triumphed and gotten through and then she just dies. SMH.
The Verdict!
This just hasn't been a good story arc. The ending pissed me off so bad that it just ruined my whole opinion of the issue and this entire story arc. I don't know where Robinsion went with this story but it just didn't work for me. DONT PICK UP! 2 out of 5.
