The Justice League members begin to recover from their amnesia, but are taken captive by the Devil Guards. They are rescued by Wanderer, who is revealed as Krystal Kaa, rightful heir to the throne, and the Siren Sisterhood, an all-female underground resistance group, but not before Black Canary is seemingly killed by their captor, Princess Kass’andre. Mother Moon, a mystic healer and leader of the Sisterhood, revives Black Canary, and the two groups join forces against Goltha.
The Wanderer leads the Justice League of America into Goltha's citadel. Inside, the Atom, grown to titanic size, lies bound on the ground. Seeing the Atom, the Black Canary becomes awash in memories of the Justice League of America. Though her memory is not restored, she does now know her name, as well as the names of her comrades. Goltha's Devil Guard attack the Justice League of America. Though the initial wave is easily defeated, a larger force soon overwhelms the Justice League of America. The Justice League of America is imprisoned in Goltha's dungeon. Goltha's sister, Princess Kass'Andre enters, with her toadie, Gort.
Kass'Andre is immediately attracted to the Green Arrow. When Gort points out the scorn for Kass'Andre, in the Black Canary's eyes, Kass'Andre begins to torture the Black Canary. Sister Light, and Twigg, storm Goltha's dungeon. The Wanderer reveals herself to be Krystal Kaa, the rightful heir to the throne of L'Arra Sha. Kaa attacks Kass'Andre, who uses Gort as a human shield, to defend herself. Gort dies screaming. Kass'Andre flees. Kaa subdues Goltha's Devil Guard. The Justice League of America are freed. To their horror, they discover that the Black Canary has died. The Justice League of America, and Kaa, are led to the underground stronghold of the Siren Sisterhood.
Their leader, Mother Moon, offers to heal the Black Canary. Something about Mother Moon engenders instant trust among the members of the Justice League of America. Mother Moon brings the Black Canary back from the dead. The process not only restores her life, but her memories, as well. The Justice League of America also regain their individual memories, as well. Mother Moon explains who the Siren Sisterhood are. The Batman sees a shadowy figure spying on them. When he alerts the Hawkman, however, the Hawkman sees no sign of an intruder. Kaa declares her intent to take back the throne from Goltha. Kass'Andre reports back to Goltha. To remind the people of his power, Goltha unleashes the giant Atom on the populace.
