“THE LAST ANGRY GOD.” J'onn J'onzz returns to Earth to seek the Justice League's aid when his people on their newly adopted homeworld accidentally awaken an alien--a self-appointed "God" called Korge, who overcomes them with fire, the weakness of all Martians.

"The Last Angry God!"

An unidentified spacecraft approaches the satellite headquarters of the Justice League of America. The Batman summons the Green Lantern and Superman, to address the situation. After the Green Lantern stops the spacecraft, Superman tears open the hull, revealing the unconscious form of J'onn J'onzz, the Manhunter From Mars. Upon revival, the Martian Manhunter asks for the Justice League of America's aid in dealing with a threat on New Mars (Mars II). Korge, the God of Rage, has been accidentally released, after eons of imprisonment. Korge threatens to slaughter the Martian populace, unless the Justice League of America is brought before him, for battle.

The Justice League of America return to New Mars, in the vessel provided by Korge. The Flash, and the Green Lantern, are the first to challenge Korge. The Flash traps Korge in a super-speed generated vortex. The moment the Flash actually comes in contact with Korge, however, the God of Rage's skin becomes like mercury, as does the floor the Flash is running upon. Unable to gain any traction, the Flash is helpless to defend himself against Korge's brutal attack. The Flash is hurled outside Korge's command center. The Green Lantern attacks Korge. The second the Green Lantern's power beam touches Korge, the God Of Rage's skin assumes a golden color.

Feedback travels up through the beam, to the power ring itself, turning it from green to yellow. The Green Lantern is mercilessly beaten by Korge, then thrown outside the command center. Superman attacks Korge. The Man of Steel hammers away at the God of Rage. Korge picks up a large boulder, and transforms it into Kryptonite. With Superman's defeat, Korge declares victory, and stalks off. The Justice League of America reconfigure the technology on Korge's transport ship, to exchange their essences with one another. The Justice League of America confront Korge. At first, Korge seems to easily dispatch the members of the team.

At the Atom's command, the Justice League of America switch battle tactics. J'onn J'onzz, the Manhunter From Mars, now possessing the Flash's powers, easily escapes the ring of fire "trapping" him. The Green Lantern, now possessing the Atom's powers, shrinks down. The Atom enlarges. The Flash, now possessing the Martian Manhunter's powers, disposes of the Kryptonite boulder. J'onn J'onzz, the Manhunter form Mars, traps Korge in a super-speed generated whirlwind. The Atom, and the Green Lantern, beat Korge into unconsciousness. Once Korge has been re-imprisoned, the Justice League of America swap essences again, restoring themselves to normal. The Martian Manhunter thanks his old comrades for coming to the aid of his people.
