    Finally, An Issue Without Batman

Dear god, get David Finch off cover duties! It appears he's been taking anatomy lessons from Rob Liefeld! I mean, Intersek looks like most Liefeld girls, posed insanely awkward, Godiva has super round T&A exposed with a thin deformed arm, Booster Gold's got a crane neck again, Guy Gardner's left arm is ridiculously massive, and there must be SOMETHING wrong with Breakdown's ass because Batwing can't seem to keep his eyes off it. The stupid banner doesn't even ruin this cover all that much, the cover does it to itself.

But of course, Aaron Lopresti's interior art is MUCH better, it has a nice general style that works well to depict the admirably wide variety of heroes. It's solid all the way around, no kind of mind blowing stylistic uniqueness, but frankly I'm perfectly okay with that, Aaron Lopresti delivers solid work to just about any series.

Speaking of capturing a wide variety of characters, this issue continues to do a great job spotlighting the entire cast. Literally everyone gets moments to shine, even though Guy Gardner takes most of the narration. Booster Gold really comes out on top as the leader, and manages to be the one instigating the romance on Godiva. O.M.A.C. deals with both sides of his problems in one story, August-General-In-Iron fully lets loose and.... actually I'm not sure if I like it ONLY because there don't seem to be repercussions for his actions.

Though, I spent tons of time defending O.M.A.C., declaring the similarities between him and the Hulk were far more minimal than people made it out to be, but there was a scene here where Guy's telling O.M.A.C. to let the monster out, which was fine, until it worked when he insulted him.

And I didn't catch this the first time through, but Breakdown REALLY reminds me of Amon from Legend of Korra. I mean, he even had the whole thing where he knelt a 'hero' before him, put his hand on his head, and talked about powers and how he can break them down.... right after making a big anti-superhero demonstration.... yeah. Not as bad as the group in Nightwing, but still.

    In Conclusion: 4/5

Overall this was a solid issue. There were a few hiccups, but none of them were excessive deal breakers. It does seem annoying that this arc ends with some loose ends that seem to be set to CONTINUE this story that has already run a little too long. But this issue handles most of its stuff fine.
