    Such Bad-assery 0

This will be one of the first times I will EVER rate a comic book issue with a solid 5, yes, as in 5.The Good: We all have favorites in the Justice League, and for some reason, for the past few decades, reboot or not, each issue would always focus more on a select few of the writer's choice. But wait, let me correct myself, this issue perse focused on each character, not necessarily in a direct manner, but in a way that brought out a lot of action, comedy and wit from each dialogue. Oh and might...

    I Am Darkseid! 0

The Story: Aquaman becomes acquainted with the other heroes. They eventually come into contact with Cyborg and then Darkseid. My Thoughts:I had been looking forward to this issue ever since I saw the cover of Aquaman standing over a beaten Hal Jordan. I thought the cover was epic and couldn't wait to see Aquaman put Hal Jordan in his place. Unfortunately, the cover was deceiving. A little false advertisement on DC's part. Still it was a pretty exciting issue to read. Geoff Johns continues to tel...

    Darkseid Joins the Party 0

Geoff Johns and Jim Lee have been writing and drawing DC Comics flagship title for four issues now. In this issue we get to see the real villain at threat. Can the newly formed Justice League take down one of the strongest beings in the DC Universe.  THE GOOD: We all know that Jim Lee is an amazing artist. I really love his art. I really like how sketchy his art work is but it's also very clean. There is tons of details in these pages. The story is where I really like Justice League. I'm not a f...

    Aquaman Steals The Show 0

First of all, I would like to apologize for such a lengthy hiatus on my reviews. Writer's block can happen to even the best of the writers. Just ask J. Michael Straczynski!*  *I jest, I jest.  Anyway, let's focus on the show-stealing issue that is Justice League #4.   Well, heck, what can be said about this issue? That it's a continuing testament to the success of DC's New 52 Initiative? That it has turned the King of the Seas into the absolute badass he is meant to be depicted? That Tom Br...

Aquaman's Awesome, But Doesn't Add Much Depth 0

The Good: This is a generally great cover, nice balance and eveything; and the character fighting on the cover properly represent what's happening in the issue; but upon closer inspection, I see that the entire League is actually present in some form. That's even better.Jim Lee's on art. It's great.I saw some complaints about Aquaman's instant declaration of leadership at the end of the previous issue, but he explains it in exactly the same way I did. He's a KING. He knows how to lead. He's bein...

Slow and Steady, More of the Same 1

Geoff Johns does enjoy taking his time. Seeing as how other books of the New 52 are already wrapping up their first story arcs and Justice League has just now assembled all of its members and revealed the main villain in issue #4, one can't help but feel that this story is being stretched out unnecessarily. The plot of this issue is very thin and the characters don't really move from where they were last issue. I'm not quite sure how I feel about Cyborg just yet, but his story is the only thing o...

    Still at introductions. 0

Art: Too much. There is no doubt Jim Lee is a majorly talented artist but I am not really warming to the huge production he's constructing for Justice League. I just feel the panels are overly complicated and sometimes hard to breakdown, blinding sometimes with all their colour. I know this is Justice League and it needs to be BIG but some of the sequences are just too much.Plot: More introductions. The JL continue to make mashed potatoes of the horde they are facing. Aquaman is firmly introduce...

    Finally there is a league!(spoilers) 0

This issue is one that I had to read a couple times to like, to like as much as the earlier issues. We finally have all the members locked, cocked...ya well...ya. There Is actually a descent amount of action in this issue and the best by far is aquaman's, let's call it shark attack, I found that incredible. Also for a little humor that I found hilarious was when green lantern is touching(unbeknownst to him) wonder woman's lasso of truth and what he says made me laugh a little bit. Very good an...

Aquaman! Kicking ass in a world that hates and makes fun of him! 0

In this issue the team finally gets together as the big bad finally makes his appearance. Not the best issue but is great to see that the climax is about to begin. And also how enjoyable is to see a certain idiot with a green ring is finally getting what he deserves for his dickery. The issue starts with Cyborg’s body quickly turning more cybernetic and defeats a few of darkseid’s minions. He of course is not pleased of what he has become and leaves the lab. We then go back to our heroes were Aqu...

    Justice League # 4 0

Okay, so far I rated every Justice League issue classic. And I have to say this is the best issue yet. We have the introduction of Cyborg and Aqua Man in the Justice League. And from what happen to Cyborg, I tell you Cyborg is going to have daddy issues. Cyborg was a all star first round draft pick football player now he is going to have new calling being a first round draft pick super hero on the Justice League. And this explosive is just getting bigger. So far the series from issue # 1 til now...

    Actiony 0

This book continues to be all action and petty bickering between the heroes. There were some good jokes like the Green Lantern touching Wonder Woman's lasso joke. But if I just picked up Justice League as the flagship book to introduce me to all the DC characters whose solo books I'm not reading, I'd still not want to read any of them. I guess it's supposed to be more of a "come see those guys you enjoy to much team up". I don't know. So far I'm definitely dropping this book after the first arc....

From the depths of the sea, back to the block 0

This is not the most refined title coming out of the new 52, but it is one of the more entertaining.  While other series are going for intrigue or character development, this one is going for just flat out action, essentially becoming the summer blockbuster of the new titles.  With all the other heroes getting their chance at being showcased, now its Aquaman's turn with his entrance from the harbour an indication both that the threat is more widespread and that he is an equal of the others heroe...

Comic Review -- Justice League #4 / Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, & Scott 0

Originally posted on my blog, The Comics Cove, not too long ago...I like this cover, even if it suffers from "didn't happen in the comic" syndrome. While Hal and Aquaman do some verbal sparring, there's never any real physical conflict between them. Still, Jim Lee does his customarily awesome job of making his heroes look epic and badass, as he does with Aquaman, who actually totally wins me over in one scene of this issue. The impromptu team-up progresses as Aquaman joins the fray, proving to hi...

Plays with the strengths of the New 52 0

The New 52 continues to show itself in form in this issue, showing off a world where heroes do not just become friends, a world where the Government does not like heroes, and a world where people make fun on a surprisingly kick ass Aquaman.Perhaps this is why Namor generally keeps to himself?Anyway, the one thing I have to wonder is, why Cyborg? What about Cyborg had him become the new Justice League Member.Cyborg's a good hero, but why make him a Justice League? I mean, if they wanted an Africa...
