An Important, and Suprisingly Good Issue
It feels like Geoff Johns saves all the good stuff the the last issues of his arcs. This issue showcases the League working with each other against an enemy, and that's something that's been getting better in this series. I'm loving the way Johns isn't involving Batman physically in the fights. I love Batman, but I've always doubted that he could stand next to Superman fighting Darkseid and hold his own. Batman is the stragist for the League, which makes sense because he's not as physically strong as the rest of the JL.. I also enjoyed Green Lantern's "Dark Knight" moment, where (spoilers) he takes the fall for the League's mess ups. It was a powerful, awesome moment for a character that hasn't been everyone's favorite so far. Also, if you couldn't tell by the cover, Wonder Woman and Superman get together, which is inevitable, in my opinion. They're too much alike to not attract each other, but Clark & Lois will ultimately end up together. Nonetheless, I'm interested in where their relationship will go. Jim Lee's art is at it's best here, capturing all the action and the emotion that appears in this issue. All in all, this issue was action packed and full of new developments that will effect the entire DCnU, and it finally feels like Johns has the hang of writing the team as a whole.
