While adventuring with Wolverine, prior to joining the X-Men Jubilee met the Mandarin. It went badly, with him knocking her out, dressing her up, and telling her Wolverine was dead. Jubilee responded by unleashing a massive burst of plasma energy, blowing his fortress to pieces. This experience affected Jubilee for many years, leaving her deeply frightened of using her powers to their full potential.
Formerly a mutant, Jubilee's powers included the ability to generate explosive energy blasts, as well as the ability to detonate matter on a sub-atomic level.
When Master Mold subsumed the sentinel Nimrod, the resulting robot was forced into the Siege Perilous by the X-Men. The resulting humanoid was more powerful than either and grew to hate mutants. This humanoid was Bastion (see above).
