Henri IV, known as "The Great" or "Le Vert Galant", born under the name of Henri de Bourbon on December 13, 1553 in Pau and died assassinated on May 14, 1610 in Paris, is King of Navarre from June 9, 1572 under the name of Henri IIIa, and king of France under the name of Henri IV from August 2, 1589 until his death in 1610. He thus united the dignities of king of France and of Navarre and was the first king of France of the Capetian house of Bourbon.
