    Bio:
Joshua Black was born in Trinity, Florida, where his mother and father raised him until he was six years old. Shortly after his birthday his mother was killed in a car accident. Joshua, who had distracted his mother, always felt guilty about her death. His guilt was made worse by his father, who reminded him regularly that if it weren’t for him, Mary and her unborn child would be alive. Joshua learned to block out a lot of the abuse and even pitied his father. He refused to raise a hand to him, because he believed that the man had suffered enough. His unwillingness to fight back often led to bumps and bruises and had even resulted in a couple of broken bones over the years. One day, though, Joe hit Josh harder than he’d meant to, causing his neck to break as his body slammed against the bathtub.
As part of a divine hierarchy, Joshua was not expected to die in such a mundane way. His death threw heaven into chaos, causing the angels to panic. They set time back, hoping to undo the damage that had been done by Josh’s early demise. They were unaware, however, that Joshua’s mother was meant to die and his unborn sister was never meant to be born. Josh awoke the morning after he broke his neck to find his mother and sister alive. No one but him seemed to realize anything was amiss. Joshua was soon confronted by angels who explained the situation. He also learned that some of the people who he had known for years had been lying to him about who they were and what their motives were.
Soon after discovering his place in the hierarchy and learning about his powers, Joshua met a girl named Levetica. While he initially found her terrifying, he soon came to think of her as a friend, realizing that he could share things in his life with her that neither his longtime girlfriend Tracy, nor his best friend Pete would understand. While Josh had never felt like Tracy completely understood him, he had recently come to see that she expected things of him that he wasn't sure he wanted to give. He had also started to feel that his relationship with Pete was strained, and while he couldn't quite figure out the reason, Josh could tell that the dynamics of their friendship had begun to shift. While it was clear from the beginning that Levetica had a lot of flaws, he felt comfortable around her and appreciated the simplicity of his time with her.
