60 issues and still going strong
Ok, dear readers I haven't been reviewing many titles of late. Work and life kind of took over for the past several weeks or so. Well here we are with Jonah Hex #60 Yep that is 6. 0. Who would have thought. I am still relatively new to this run only being on board, minus trades I have read, since issue 50. However, I have to say that every month this is a book that I look forward to! No, it isn't a superhero book but it is exciting every issue and the one and done formate is perfect. Jimmy Palmiotti said it in a tweet awhile back and I will echo it here. This book begs to be put on to HBO. It would be a great venue to display the rough and rugged style of the old west, without worrying too much about the censors. Each issue has a Western movie feel that, if the production company was smart and used this series writers, would feel perfect in a one hour format. Oh, and that one and done does not mean that threads aren't pulled through each and every issue.
This issue is yet another that holds true to the format and the story is full action and fun. Hex is a great character that does things that I would say only he could.
Brian Stelfreeze does a good job on the visuals this month. He isn't Jordi Bernet but his style is still strong and renders the look and feel of the "Old West" beautifully.
4 out of 5 and my usual endorsment for all to buy this series!
