    Lost along the Amazon River, Jonah Hex rescues a young jungle native from five white men who are torturing him. But he is shot by a poison dart and drifts down river until he goes over a waterfall and breaks numerous bones. He is discovered by Venal, a rubber plantation owner who nurses him back to health, but the man has secret plans for Hex.

    Hex is a long way from home. This would be an outstanding issue if it weren't undermined by a bunch of flaws.To start with, that's a great cover - except the issue has no blonde women, Hex never has a sword, and the jungle tribesmen don't dress like that or have face paint... but O.K., that's just the cover. What about the inside?To start with, the art is fantastic. It's another example of how some of the best artwork in the entire history of comics was done during the Bronze Age.Of special note...
