Love never stops
This is a classic Harley Quinn and Joker love story. Quinn's love for The Joker is not healthy and we all know that. That is part of the charm she has, she is insane, even when it comes to love. The main weakness to this story is the fact a Quinn obsessive love story for the joker is nothing new. So the over the top moments are not shocking to the long time readers. This maybe a nice comic for new readers who haven't read works such as Mad Love, to see how Quinn ticks.
The framing aspect of the book maybe the best part. The dog was super cute and we really had to wait to see it's fate at the end of the book. I seemed to want to know about the dog more then the Valentine's Day story.... which feels really weird reading so far away from February. I wonder if I was the only one who felt that.
Joe Quinones seemed a good fit for the interiors. The fact dude has "Quin" in the name is kind of cool to me, don't know why. I just noticed it and also "ones" because its a one-shot.... so "Quin""ones"-shot... get it? Okay that is why I don't write for money.... I did enjoy his art. Some of the panels were really well drawn and I loved the "heart" panel that had to make an appearance somewhere in this book. The second best panel was the circle where Quinn is yelling "FOORRRE". This art cannot compare to the Terry and Rachel Dodson's version of her, which will always be my favorite Quinn artist.
This one-shot felt like a Marvel One-Shot... nothing happens to effect the overall story of the characters involved. I am in love with Harley Quinn so this book is a must for me... but it is not a really must, it was a want.
We do learn some random joker facts:
I also wonder what happened to Spider? The henchmen get no love.
Overall this was a fun issue, where nothing important happens... so its what you expected.
