I'm glad the joker's back but I worry about what he'll become. Will there be any room for gags and pies to the face and other clown stuff amongst all the knives, flesh and blood? More and more it feels like he's turning into Jigsaw.

Buuut maybe that's a stretch. hopefully he'll be more like Heath Ledger's Joker, I'm cool with that.

Yes!!!!!!! Snyder and Capullo are the greatest team up in comics since Millar and McNiven & Azzarello and Bermejo. I have loved every issue of the Batman. Every issue is better than the last. I can not wait to see how they do this.

How disappointingly conservative. I was not impressed with his take on the Joker in Tec...at all. But hey, maybe he'll pull it off much better this go around. Though I must say, whoever postulated on the boards that having the Jokers face cut off in Tec was Snyder's idea and setup for a later arc. Man this face cutting thing really better pay off cuz damn was it frakin' retarded as all hells.

Joker is one of my favorite villains of all time. him, Doctor Doom, Lex Luthor, Red Skull and the Green Goblin are my top five favs of all time!

I think after the latest filler for Talia and Damian, I can see him being the target of Joker, maybe wanting to recreate Batman's lowest moment ?

@Smart_Dork_Dude: They might. I mean they sort of did that with the Under the Red Hood Movie, and I liked that design.

@Suprman: Really the only thing they took from Ledger's Joker, as far as I could tell, was the whole "Agent of Chaos" aspect. The rest of his design looked straight up Classic Joker.

@Smart_Dork_Dude: They also gave him Ledger's long hair and facial structure, at least I think so. I don't really think them using a design that looked like Ledger would be a bad thing, sort of like Gary Frank's Superman design, it looks like Christopher Reeve. It's a good way to honor Ledger's version of the character.

A year is a long time to wait on a cliffhanger! Its different than say Jean Grey returning because Jean grey has been dead. She hasn't been doing anything. But Joker has been up to something. And he's been setting things up since Detective comics #1. I think a year is definitely a good amount of time to bring him back into the center stage.

@Suprman: Oh I'm not complaining that they might be doing it, I'm just saying that I'm getting a strong feeling that they're going to do it. I love Gary Frank's Superman, it just proves that Christopher Reeve truly was Superman and no one else will ever come close to capturing what he brought to the role. Regardless of what version of Supes I'm reading, classic to the relaunched version, I hear Reeve's voice.

@AtPhantom: Joker's been around in the Batman universe but he hasnt REALLY been at the center of a story for quite a few years. He had a supporting role in Morrison's Black Glove story line and at the end of his Batman and Robin run, and his cameos in the Black Mirror and the first issue of 'Tec but as for him being the MAIN villain in a story arc I cant really remember when the last time was.

so, when his face got torn off that was one of the first run-ins with batman. however, it's still canon that he shot barbara and killed jason and did everything he usually did, when he super had a face.

but he...doesn't now? and batman never found him after that crappy villain the dollmaker helped slice his face off? i know that's a lot of questions but this it's a little silly.

if there is one real bad idea the writers could've done much better at coming out of the new 52 it would've been to have be at the absolute very least 8 or 9 years when they started out.

@Smart_Dork_Dude: I do know exactly what you mean. Reeve will always be Superman and he captured Superman PERFECTLY. I will always hear Reeve's voice while reading Superman just like Kevin Conroy will always be the voice of Batman to me and I hear him every time I read Batman. Also no offense to Ledger's version of Joker but there's NO ONE who can capture the Joker's laugh like Mark Hamil, I'm 25 and that laugh STILL sends shivers up my spine.
