When he turned seventeen, young Hal Jordan (cousin of the famous Hal Jordan, Green Lantern) was given the costume of his father, the Golden Age Air Wave. Hal became the new Air Wave, able to convert and manipulate radio waves. Air Wave died during the Infinite Crisis.
Larry Jordan was the first hero named Air Wave, and fought during World War II as a member of the All-Star Squadron. Once he died, his helmet was passed along to his son, Harold "Hal" Jordan, who became the third Air Wave.

Chuck Wilson is a Texan and and one of the American members of the Blackhawks. In the 1980's his character was drastically changed the Carlos "Chuck" Sirianni and Italian who was raised in Hoboken, New Jersey.
