John Shirley is an American writer and one of the early explorers of both the Cyberpunk movement within the Science Fiction genre, and the Splatterpunk sub genre of Horror Fiction. He was the co-writer of the original screenplay (with David J. Schow) for the first movie of The Crow series, and he has written several comics and full length novels based on comics properties and other related pop culture works.
