    From The Longbox: JLA #3

In this issue, The Jla are captured and only the supposedly dead Batman is free to help them. Yet as Protex,  the leader of the Hyperclan says, " He is just one human .. What can he possibly do?"  What he does in this issue is cement in the mind of the reader, why he belongs on the same team as power houses like Superman and Wonder Woman.
With the rest of the JLA down, Batman discovers who the Hyperclan really is, and knows how to deal with them. Yet, that is just at the end of the book. Until then, we get to see some sweet battles. One involving the Flash, that i ignorantly credited to issue 2. Sorry. That does not change the fact that the art during that battle is incredible.
I like the bickering between Flash and green Lantern. At this point Wally has been Flash long enough to pick on the rookie, even if they may be the same age. It is a good touch, that he would do it as his way of trying to look more important.
I can honestly say I am a fan of Howard Porters art in these issues. Although, it is the story that is really sailing the ship here. Grant Morrison seems to be having a lot of fun with the characters. Thanks to the two of them Issue 3 is a stand out book on its own, as well as being just one more chapter in an exciting story.
In case it seems i am beaming too much. I do understand that this plot only works if you believe every other hero on Earth fell under the Hyperclans spell also.
