    I'm reading Doctor Solar and I love it so far, the others aren't my cup of tea.

    Troublemaker has been awesome, the whole bit with the God and the Dream girl still has me unsettled.

    I was reading Doctor Solar but I eventually fell off. The story felt a little random for the first arc. I was honestly hoping for a retelling of the Valiant Comics origin or at least a retelling of some sort of origin but the first issue jumps straight into him being Doctor Solar.

    The origin will be in number five, the first arc had some hairy moments. you should have stuck it out..

    I may go back and get the issues I missed, I think I made it to three before I stopped...but the decision to go into the origin in issue five is a really iffy one. Doctor Solar isn't a Superman or a Spider-Man, people usually only recognize him from his 90's Valiant days and jumping into a story head-first...especially one that could be seen as unappealing to new readership isn't going to pick up any new readers, IMO. I like that he's doing what he wants but the book has to sell for it to be granted the longevity I think it deserves.

    @iLLituracy: I'm not sure what his plan was but Jim Shooter is a brilliant writer and I'm sure all will be explained. I understand what you are saying about sales and longevity but these properties are safe they are not at Marvel or DC but at Dark Horse, they could not be in a better place and like Valiant folks may be sorry they did not jump on early.

    @Silkcuts:
    Jim Shooter used Turok, Magnus, and Dr.Solar to build the original Valiant V1 universe when it was must read  during the period from its inception leading up to the Unity event. After this he was forced out of the company and without him at the writing and editorial reins the line began its long decline into oblivion. He is sole Editor for Dark Horse Gold Key.

    I haven't really been paying attention, but I'll try to find these. The artwork is freaking incredible. I'm especially excited to see Magnus here, I always thought he'd be an awesome character to bring back.

    I'm sorry too would have loved to discuss them. There are always back issue options galore in our area but they are dwindling, you are in NYC right? You ever go to the local weekend Jersey shows?

    I love how Moloch explained where he came from. We're bound to see all these first arc-characters again. I'm looking forward too it too.
