Many of us still have our heads floating in the sky over the Daredevil series on Netflix. Of course we know there will be more Marvel shows coming. Last night on Tumblr, Brian Michael Bendis posted this "hype" poster for the next Netflix Original Series--AKA Jessica Jones.

There still isn't a release date. Netflix simply says "Coming 2015."

Working as a private investigator in New York's Hell's Kitchen, a troubled ex-superhero's past comes back to haunt her in the live-action series, "Marvel’s Jessica Jones."

That poster kinda makes her look like a vampire ...such pale skin :D Need to see more than a teaser poster though :D

@the_stegman: Nope, totally different than Jennifer Garner's Alias. The comic was Marvel's first Max line (R rated) series. It pretty much follows a P.I. suffering from PTSD following her time as a superhero, some really messed up stuff happend to her that i wont say for spoiler reasons (David Tennant has been cat as the reason though). It's insanely good. I believe marvel is putting out trades of it again soon. It's worth your time when it comes out.

I just really really really really really hate the fact that they're using the Defenders name for a team that's not the Defenders. The Defenders is Doc Strange, Hulk, Silver Surfer, etc. The closest thing that these people are are the Marvel Knights. Seeing Doctor Strange continue into a Defenders movie (instead of an Avengers movie) would have been awesome (although I don't think they have the rights to all the characters).

EXCITED about the pics! If this ends up being anywhere near as great as Alias, and the Daredevil series gives me a lot of hope that it will, it should be amazing.

I am on board with this as a big old-school Defenders fan, but on the other hand let's remember that the Defenders were a non-team team, so there were tons of line-ups. Strange, Hulk, Surfer, and Namor would always join in throughout the series, but they didn't stay as the main line-up for that long. For instance I was a big fan of the Hellcat, Valkyrie, Nighthawk, Hulk era. As well as the Angel, Beast, Iceman, Gargoyle, Andromeda, Cloud, Moondragon, Valkyrie era. And others like Devil-Slayer and Hellstrom and Moon Knight (who would be great as a Netflix show). There's lots of characters that left their stamp on that team.

And, to be fair, both Daredevil and Luke Cage did join in with the Defenders for a few issues here and there, so there is at least a brief relationship.

But still, your larger point is certainly true. I'd love to see a real Defenders show. These characters are more along the lines of Heroes for Hire or, as you say, Marvel Knights.

I haven't seen her in anything resembling a costume at all. The dampens my excitement. Daredevil was a superhero show. Is Jessica Jones going to be as well? Or will it be a detective show with superpowers?

Wait, she's also working in Hell's Kitchen? Well, that should be interesting after the events of Daredevil. And given what we know about SHIELD's Index, consider me intrigued. Not too sure about the actress though...

And now for the real question- How will her Jewel costume look? (I'm kind of hoping that we will get a flashback episode to her superheroine days.)

However, this looks pretty good. I'm interested.

I've seen that girl in something. I guess she's an okay actress, but she has one of the least heroic faces I've ever seen for superhero casting. Kind of weak features and not a stereotypical beauty.

Not that it matters. A performer's looks make almost no difference in the grand scheme of television, but it surprises me that they didn't go more traditional. Maybe this is a good sign of out of the box thinking.

Actually I think its more Heroes For Hire then Defenders, but I can see why there using the name since its like Defending the streets. I consider Strange and Hulk Avengers/New Avengers, and Surfer could be a Guardian (of the Galaxy).

@batwatch: The actress (Krysten Ritter) has appeared on Breaking Bad, Veronica Mars and Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23. Is it possible you heard about her on ones of those shows?

Well, Jessica Jones isn't meant to be an idealised hero like Captain America or Captain Marvel, she's meant to more "average" you could say.

you are talking about the original line up that lasted for like five minutes. my defenders (the ones who were members when i discovered the book) are dr. strange, clea, gargoyle, valkyrie, black knight, hellcat and hellstorm. cant remember all the members but those are the ones i liked the most. and i agree with you it would have been cool for dr. strange lead defenders team movie but i think defenders (being so close to avengers) is better for marketing. who would really call themselves the marvel knights? we outside of the comics refer to it as the marvel universe not the people living in it lol so it wouldnt really work

its my girl, jessica and she is so awesome!!! hope they give her a good theme song and opening sequence cause ooh they failed with the daredevil one.
