Jesse Kilmartin is a New Mutant with genetically altered DNA that allows him to manipulate his body’s molecular structure with his Solid Matter Density Control Ability. With his mutation Jesse could manipulate his body’s molecular structure with the Solid Matter Density Control ability so he could have the capability to make himself intangible. It seems that Jesse has the capability to manipulate his body’s molecular structure so he could defy the laws of physics with his New Mutant ability without any harm to himself. He could utilize his mutation to manipulate his molecular structure so he could make himself intangible to pass his atoms through the spaces of the atomic structure of a object. By manipulating his molecular structure to make Jesse intangible can cause his atoms to temporarily merge with the atomic structure of a object without any type of interaction. Apparently his genetically enhanced DNA maintains a distinct corporeal memory making it capable for Jesse through his willpower can revert into his original molecular structure. While in the episode “I Scream the Body Electric” Jesse was capable of making his body intangible so he could have the capability to phase through Brennan’s electrical blast. Though in the same episode Jesse after making himself intangible while he was dodging Brennan’s electrical blast had accidentally caused him to phase through the floor. When he accidentally phased himself through the floor it seems that Jesse had used his Solid Matter Density Control ability with his willpower had caused the floor to become intangible. His Solid Matter Density Control ability allows Jesse to be capable of manipulating his molecular structure to make himself intangible so he could phase himself through walls. Through his Solid Matter Density Control ability he could manipulate his body’s molecular structure to make himself immune to energy-based attacks while he is in a intangible state. For his Solid Matter Density Control ability allows Jesse to have the capability to phase the clothing he is wearing since it is apparent that it is in a very close proximity to his body. The episode “A Breed Apart” has shown the advancement of his mutation which allows him to manipulate the molecular structure of objects by having close physical contact with Jesse. By utilizing his sheer concentration the advancement of his New Mutant abilities allows Jesse through direct physical contact could make a plane that was in mid-flight intangible. Eventually the advancement of his mutation allowed Jesse to utilize his Solid Matter Density Control ability to manipulate his molecular structure to selectively phase parts of his body. Unfortunately Jesse could only remain in a intangible state for around thirty seconds at a time since his atoms might loose cohesion making him incapable of solidifying his body. When he is in a intangible state Jesse doesn’t have the capability to breath in this form hence the reason he has to hold his breath every time that he utilizes his New Mutant abilities. After Jesse solidifies his molecular structure with his distinct corporeal memory causing him to revert into his original state he will have to immediately draw in a breath of air. A weakness of Jesse’s New Mutant abilities when he is shifting his molecular structure to be in his intangible state he is incapable of going through any type of electrical based field. Jesse can utilize his New Mutant abilities to increase the mass of his molecular structure by drawing in the molecular density from the world around him to make himself impervious. When he utilizes his Solid Matter Density Control ability by shifting his molecules to make himself impervious to physical injury he will surround himself with a rock-like structure. Apparently to activate his Solid Matter Density Control ability he has to take in a breath of air while he is flexing his muscles so he could make himself impervious to physical injuries. With his New Mutant abilities Jesse can be capable of manipulating his molecular structure to shift his body’s mass to be impenetrable so he could be capable of deflecting bullets. He has the capability to utilize his Solid Matter Density Control ability to shift into a impervious form so Jesse could withstand a car crashing into his body without any injury. Since Jesse can utilize his New Mutant abilities to use his Solid Matter Density Control ability to make himself impervious to physical harm has made him immune to pain. It seems that Jesse can utilize his New Mutant abilities to manipulate his molecules to shift himself into a impervious form to enhance his physical strength to superhuman levels. Whenever Jesse shifts into his impervious form will enhance his physical strength to superhuman levels to make him capable of lifting a uncertain amount of weight. For it seems that when Jesse encases himself with his rock-like structure to make him impervious has enhanced his physical strength to lift or destroy almost anything in this form. His New Mutant abilities allow Jesse when he is in his impervious form has energy resistance while in this state he can deflect energy at him without any harm to himself. While he is in his impervious form it seems that the rock-like structure around him has the capability to absorb or reflect energy that is directed at him without physically injuring him. By shifting his molecules into a super-dense state which has some kind of barrier around Jesse’s brain which can mentally protects him from people trying to enter into his mind. The psychic immunity while he is in a super-dense state can protect him when people try using a Psionic attack will disperse on contact with his body without any side effects. After the advancement of his New Mutant abilities Jesse can be capable of expanding his imperiousness to other people by having direct physical contact to make them impenetrable. Unfortunately when Jesse shifts his molecules into a super dense state has increased his body’s mass to incredible levels making him unable to move thus rendering him immobile. Like in his other form Jesse’s impenetrable state can last only for thirty seconds since he could risk his powers becoming permanent which can kill him if he doesn’t return to normal. In the episode “In Between” it references the fact that Jesse in his impervious form is incapable of protecting him against weaponry that specifically effects the nervous system. Even without his New Mutant abilities Jesse Kilmartin is a skilled martial artist which can make him formidable when he faces off against his enemies in hand-to hand combat.
