Well, actually, just what my boss-man ordered...60 copies!

That's a lot for a "small book," but hey! it's only a dollar. We did really well with Unwritten #1, which was also a dollar. We ended up selling 100 copies of that little Vertigo title.

I don't think there are any foodies in Sweet Tooth...that is, unless, someone eats the little kid with the antlers.

Maybe Tony Chu will eat him! :D

Sweet Tooth looks good. please write a review and your synopsis as well if it's not to much trouble.

I was just thumbing through Jeff's Essex County stuff. It's about these Canadian people who live these grim, boring and meaningless lives. I have a feeling that mood will be repeated in Sweet Tooth. Not exactly my kind of comic, but when something is good...it's good.

I put in our final order on ST #1 yesterday, so it should be coming out in three weeks. As soon as I read it, I'll write a review. Looks like I've become the designated CV person to write reviews for comics that hardly anyone reads. :)

Anyway, if you've read my other reviews, you know that I can be brutal. So if I give it 3 or more stars, that means it's probably better than 95% of the other stuff that's out there.

It doesn't sound like my kind of story either.  I like the image of the boy with antlers, but a human bambi running from the hunters...?  It doesn't grab me.     I'm also not sure why it's called Sweet Tooth :p

I don't know what the title means either.

And you already know that the "deep and serious" stuff doesn't appeal to me. I like my funny books to be funny books.

I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been hanging out in the General Discussion Forum on the "A good name for a rock band in a comic book" thread for the last couple of days, because, well, I need to come up with a good name for a rock band in a comic book. :)  It's turning into a rather long thread.

Anyhow, every time I check the forums to see the latest contribution to that thread, I see this "dental" thread right underneath it. And being that I was at the dentist today, I keep thinking it's about something that I wrote about that glorious experience. :(

@Roxanne Starr:   I suppose you two already don't like it but Sweet Tooth (as explained by the great Jeff Lemire) in the Vertigo editorial thingy at the back of their comic said that Gus (the boy with antlers is the "sweet") and Jepperd (the hunter is the "tooth") and that the story is a lot deeper then it looks at first appearances. I personally loved it, and since it's a dollar I think everyone should get it, but I believe it's with the following issues that we'll really be able to judge the series. Personally I don't think a series can be cast out as rubbish after only one issue (unless it's a one-shot :P) "
I didn't say it was rubbish, Aztek. I just don't like it...not my kind of funny book.

"Funny book" was what all comic books were called until the late 60s.

It was only with the advent of undergrounds that the term was dropped.
