Jean Grey
Character » Jean Grey appears in 7984 issues.
Jean Grey was one of the five original X-Men. An omega-level mutant telepath and powerful telekinetic, Jean has gained near limitless powers as a recurrent host of the Phoenix Force. She is known for her return from death and as the wife of Cyclops.
Jean, the baby ?
"I think its Rachel Grey but who knows"
how could it be rachel grey without cyclops knowing and with jean being dead?

I said this along time ago. It is extremely powerful, red hair, a girl. Its going to be Jean or at least Jean related.

It's going to be Jean.
There was that image (from maybe the second or third issue) where you see a Phoenix rising in her eyes.
"Billy said:He was one of several characters who crossed over."Ummm X-man by any chance?"
no he`s from age of apocalypse that`s in another universe"

It doesn't make sense for the baby to be Jean.
Marvel is a company, and those are interested in $$$. And as much as it pains me Jean Grey is very popular.
So her return will no doubt be a big event, hugely advertised to get as much $$$ as possible. It's completely logical.
But a more subtle return would be better for the character. Also, a return of Jean as Baby Grey won't mean that an older Jean wont return later. Marvel's a big tent with a lot of ideas under it. It's just that these days...Bendis seems to be behind most of them...and they aren't as good as advertised ;>)
"i hate everyone last named Grey."
Kind of a blanket statement, isn't it? Why hate Jean Grey?
Well, I've just bought the "King-Size Cable #1" and trhe baby is now old enough to talk, and has aparently been with Cable for a while in the future. She calls Cable (Nathan Summers) "Nay-Nay", and can vocalize concepts like "No, Nay-Nay! No jump! I scared." I feel she is supposed to be either Jean Grey reborn, or perhaps Maddy. Cable's really trying his best to protect her, and Biship's being heartless as heck in his quest to kill her, though you also understand his reasons. After all, he's trying to prevent a disaster...but I still feel he's wrong.
If you've read Uncanny X-Men 502, then you know that the Red Queen ISN'T Jean or Maddy, but someone who looks exactly like Emma Frost in a red wig. Perhaps one of her sisters? She still has one living sister, doesn't she? Or maybe a clone?
X-Characters turned into kids/babies in the past - Storm, Magneto, Cable, am I missing anyone? Certainly wouldn't be the first time if it is Jean. I think it'd be more poetic if it were Rachel since she saved Cable's ass when he was a baby.
Well, if I remember correctly, Maddy was from Alaska! That could be a connection. And Maddy was also Cables mother. Hmm...that's starting to look like the right track. I kinda hope so, because she was screwed out of her happiness by that jerk Scott. It would be nice if she got the chance to start over again ;>)
But, it's also possible that it's something else. For example, I said that the Red Queen might be Emma's sister...but now that I've reread it, I think she's a product of Empaths mind. After all, only Empath actully sees her, and she says to him that she can't be captured. Durring the breakout, only Empath is seen. It could be a situation like Perfection in Astonishing X-Men, where she was a figment or splinter personality of Emma's mind. The Red Queen my just be Empaths imagined version of Emma based on the reflected image of his former teacher.

I also think Cable (a stand-up guy) would protect the child no matter what.
And for the record, I hope this is a new start for Jean or Madalyne as well. I hope it's Madalyne, so she can have a chance at the happiness that Scott robbed her of. I hope she doesn't just start to go all "Goblin Queen" or "Phoenix" at the drop of a hat. As I'va said before, once a writer has the Phoenix to work with as a character, they (unless they're Alan Davis) instantly start working on their big "I'm going mad with power!" story. Alan Davis used Rachel Summers well, but everyone else...well, I'd rather have Jean back as plain old "Marvel Girl" and leave well enough alone.
"I hope Jean and Madalyne cease to exist. They are horrible poorly developed characters. The Phoenix only makes for more worthless story arcs.I hope this baby is it's own person.Re-incarnation is lame.I also think Cable (a stand-up guy) would protect the child no matter what.

"John_Feaster said:Ouch! You're making me sad! Jean was a wonderful character...but Jean as the "Phoenix" always leads to the same, dull story about power corrupting and such like that. That's why I'd rather not have to put up with another "Phoenix Force" saga. Even if done right, another writer's waiting in the wings to drag the original "Phoenix" storyline back into the picture."I hope Jean and Madalyne cease to exist. They are horrible poorly developed characters. The Phoenix only makes for more worthless story arcs.I hope this baby is it's own person.Re-incarnation is lame."I also think Cable (a stand-up guy) would protect the child no matter what.

I'd rather not think of either Jean or Madalyne as bad characters. Just characters who've often been written poorly. All they need is a good writer, and they'll be just fine. Madalyne was well handled when she first appeared, untill they decided to bring Jean back the first time and had to "Get rid of Maddy" in a hurry. The poor woman was tossed aside, then her baby was stolen, and finally she was turned evil and driven mad. In a way, she's a very sad character. I'd like her to have a chance at happiness.
Reincarnation's lame? I'd consider the Vance Aster in "Guardians" to be something of a temporal reincarnation, and that;'s not lame at all. It all depends on how you use the concept.

True enough about Vance Astro.
And having once been insanely powerful isn't a bad thing. It gives her history. And tension with Scott and Emma? Well, so what? Scott would stay with Emma, and Jean would go off somewhere else...hopfully with Logan. He always loved her more anyway.
"Why does everyone want Jean to be with Wolverine..you know how lame he'd be?"We want what we want...even if it can't happen. I want the X-Men to be accepted and safe in San Francisco, but it'll all go south on them in the end.
"Vance Astro said:That's different...that's a plot device. We know the X-men aren't going to be safe in San Fran if they were they wouldn't be the X-men.Wolverine being with Jean would be weird and he would be watered down."Why does everyone want Jean to be with Wolverine..you know how lame he'd be?"We want what we want...even if it can't happen. I want the X-Men to be accepted and safe in San Francisco, but it'll all go south on them in the end."
Watered down? As if 30+ years of false history, memory implants, bone claws, "Noseless Pirate Mask" and dozens of other stupid twists haven't done that already. Yeay, we wouldn't want to ruin him THAT much, now whould we ;>)
Let the guy be happy for a bit...
I really hope the baby is Jean Grey. IMO it would be a brilliant move by Marvel of slowly and quietly bringing Jean back into the Marvel U. And think of the symbolism behind it, since (if I'm correct) the Phoenix is a symbol of hope, Jean decides to be that symbol for the future of mutant kind and be reborn as the first mutant born after M-Day.
Plus there's this quote on Jean's Wikipedia page.
A recent interview panel at the San Diego Comic Con confirmed that there are discussions going on at Marvel involving Jean's eventual return, however it also stated that it's a story Marvel doesn't want to rush.So why rush, take it slow and keep it quiet, because writing a big event for Jean's return has been done already.
