When written well I like his character, when written awfully I don't like him enough to still like him.
Yes, I like him very much. Or rather, I like the fact that he is there because I think it works in some great relationships (among the Bat-Family) and cool ideas, even if the stories themselves aren't that great (Ex: Batman: Battle for the Cowl, the story is alright but Jason Todd himself is awesome and his Batman was awesome and the themes around Bruce and Jason were really cool).
I like him.
I hated him as the red hair evil guy, though. I like the way he is in Under the Hood or Red Hood and the Outlaws

As Robin yes. As Red Hood I liked his initial appearance but he's always either too insane to be much of character or everyone around him is glossing over his misdoings like they ain't no thing.
I absolutely loved him in Under the Red Hood. I believe it to be one of the greatest Batman stories to date. And Jason was portrayed perfectly in it.
However, my opinion of him has diminished significantly since. As is written above, he is far to inconsistent. We've seen insanely villainous Jason in the past and now we're seeing him as a bit more of a softie than I care to see.
Sometimes, I feel like Jason's character might have benefited if he died after Under the Red Hood. He worked there but it seems that there has been trouble finding a place for him in the Bat-Family or Rogues Gallery since.

I agree with what you said.I think if Dc would have let Judd Winick continue to handle Jason after UTRH he would have been more established instead of all over the place.I mean look at what happened with Bucky Barnes,Ed Brubaker brought him back and worked on him for a long time without anybody messing around with him.Red Hood Lost Days came out 5 years after his resurrection.

Exactly. He basically bounced around the entire DCU after Under the Red Hood. As a character he had no direction, no long term goal, writers didn't know what to do with him outside of repeating what had already been done in terms of motive. They basically kept him in a box instead of having him move on and grow.
