Jaouen Salaün was born on May 7, 1979 in Ganges in the Hérault. He came to drawing around the age of 16, discovering a box of comics in an attic, nuggets as if fallen from the sky: Moebius, Liberatore, Gillon, Gimenez... Many years of work followed to develop an academic realistic technique. From 1999 to 2003, he studied at the Émile Cohl school in Lyon. In 2003 his illustration work was selected in Bologna at the International Youth Illustration Fair, fiction section. From 2003 to 2006, he collaborated with several youth publishers: Nathan, Hatier, Magnard, Rageot... In 2006, he signed his first album Nova at Soleil, alongside screenwriter Julien Blondel. A second volume will appear in 2008. In 2010, he worked for the first time alongside Christophe Bec on a spin off of the Carthago series at Humanoids Associates. Volume 1 of Carthago Adventures will be published in 2011. Since 2009, he has been working as an advertising roughman for the Pavillon Noir agency. He also makes covers for novels and comics. In September 2013, he began a new science fiction project scripted by Christophe Bec: Eternum Text and photo © Casterman
