First I just wanna say that I liked issue 1 of the new series, especially that stuff about greater control of the Darkness and the drawbacks being that the Darkness takes over more. That and the drugs. That's just creative. Anyway, I hadn't really been reading much of the previous series but First Born got me back into it (for now anyway). So, to my question, who is Elle? Like I said I wasn't reading much before, so is she an established character or is she new? And if she's new, is she what I think she is? A woman made of Darkness so Jackie can get his freak on?

Phil Hester's said that Elle's origin will be in issue 2 (and Kirchner's in 3).

I want to know who is Elle too? Is she Jackie's new girlfriend

I don't even know when issue 2's coming out. Anyone here know?

Yes we find out where Elle comes from. Buckshot, looks like you were right.

Dang, just read it. Wasn't enough, I need more. That whole Elle thing is creepier than I thought it would be. I think a lot could be done with her character as she becomes more independent (whether she stays "good" or turns on Jackie). And the more they show what Jackie has learned to do, the more I wonder what else the professor has helped him learn.

I saw the preview too and damn i can't wait to see the whole thing. I wonder if they are going to make a issue about Jackie going to visit his daughter Hope and Sara.

Elle is kinda freaky to me. There's definitely going to be something that goes down with her. You'll see when issue #2 comes out. As far as a crossover, this is what Phil said: "Someday, but the first arc (1-6) will be self-contained. I think our first guest star will actually be Aphrodite IX.

Aphrodite IX was supposed to have a Pilot issue by Dan Jevons, Eric Basaldua but they decided to hold off on it.

The first 6 issues are self contained, but I'm sure that she'll be making her appearance. Especially now that they've got a kid.

In my other post I said there'd be a good use for Elle if she stayed good (aligned with Jackie) or turned bad. Either way there's potential, but I like what's going on better than choosing one or the other. Seems like she wants to stand by her man but the Prof is the one that's the problem and might make her turn on Jackie. Got a creepy feeling when he was underground and going to get the darklings. I like that. I'm excited to see how things play out and I want to read more right now.

I agree with buck. I got both comics today and I just wanted to read more and more after I was done.

Issue 3 was great. This book just gets better and better. I'm so disappointed in Elle, Jackie needs to kill the professor and get her in line. Assuming he survives. How is he supposed to fight The Darkness? Seems like he's in a bit of a pickle and I can't wait to see how he gets out of it.
