    Ex-bootlegger and captain of The Venture. According to his creators Jack is " a romantic, in love with the idea of adventure. He grew up reading tales of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and books like "Robinson Crusoe" and "Treasure Island." He names his submarine "The Venture" because that's the name of the freighter from "King Kong" -- his favorite movie. He's a bit of a dreamer, that guy who's always looking for the big score."
