After the Great War, between the old ones of chaos and the keepers of the order, the keepers brought the only survivor of the old ones, a baby called Jabberwocky, and placed it in Wonderland, hoping that the realm of dreams and wonder would cleanse it of the evil of its ancestors. They were wrong and the Jabberwocky grew up evil anyway. He defeated the original White Knight and drove him from Wonderland. From then on, Wonderland has been a realm of madness and insanity because of the Jabberwocky.
The Jabberwocky was routinely exchanging an extended life to Charles Dodgson for human sacrifices. These sacrifices often came from the Liddle family who were pushed by Charles through the Wonderland mirror.
The monster is for a part based on the same character as envisaged by Lewis Carroll.
As opposed to the literary character, the Jabberwocky acts as a constant force of evil, but one that is constantly working its schemes. This means that it does undergo some character development, but mostly in the form of different aspects of evil planning.
