"Who's the other little girl?"
Chris Roberson may have created the universe and has come up with great ideas, but Mike Allred is stealing the show. Mike Allred is a master at creating sequential images, he has gotten to the point where he even slightly changes styles between the his mega popular "pop-art" and a heavily grayish half-toned narration reserved for the "dead's" voice and flashbacks. This blend of the two narrations is seamless.
Roberson's story is paced well. As much as Allred's art is the reason why this comic is a solid monthly read, Roberson's story reveals something then gives us a new mystery on top of what is not revealed. This arc is doing a great job as an origin arc. Gwen's history is getting Fleshed out. Spot is developing nicely and his Grandfather was a nice twist. John Amon as well is revealing more of himself.
This was a great issue. Pretty solid. Great art, great story.
Cheers
