    Dr. Degnan and Professor Carvel are walking along the beach when they discover a dying man. Returning to the lab with him, they use infrared rays to irradiate an experimental serum of theirs  and gave it to the dying man. He quickly recovered. But more he gained super strength and intelligence. Having no memory of his life before Carvel and Degnan saved his life, the amnesiac man took the name Iron Vic. Unfortunately, Carvel quickly died, but Degnam would assist Iron Vic as he began battling crime.
