Yes, I can barely contain myself. It is probably a good thing that I missed out on the "Iron Man 2" panel because I may have embarrassed myself all over Robert Downey Jr. Is this even really news worthy? I don't know, but I think it's great so you guys will just have to deal. Check out the latest image of RDJ on the set of Iron Man 2 courtesy of Marvel.com! What does that antique film projector mean? Who is the man in the furry slippers on the left? How is 'Tony Stark' able to read, watch something off the film projector and listen to the man in the furry slippers all at the same time?   Oh yeah, talk about the platforms he's sporting. That's got to be an additional 4 inches. "

Are we certain those are slippers and not slip covers over his shoes?  He appears to be on a very polished black floor.  Can't believe I'm even discussing something so trivial but oh well.

I think the man with him is Kevin Feige, the producer of the film. Unless they use him as a cameo in the film, this is probably an in-between takes photo. Maybe it's RDJ going over the script with Feige before they shoot the next scene.

I could be wrong.

Oh, I'm a major Robert Downey Jr. fan myself. I can't wait for the Soloist to coming out on DVD, and I was so excited when I even heard that he is playing Sherlock Holmes in the movie. I love those books. I was worried when I saw it was a Guy Ritchie film, but the trailer has me excited again.
I'm also looking forward to this movie. Now that they have the staple, origin movie out of the way. Now, it will be interesting to see what they do as far as a story goes.
 
Deductive reasoning would probably suggest that Tony may be looking through his father or the companies old films to get an insight on some event in the movie. Seems like the only reason a man with a holo-projection computer would bring out such an antique. The setting does seem to be his lab.

You guys are dorks.  That's Kevin Feige, President of Production at Marvel.  This is an in-between take as was pointed out in another post.

Ya, you could be right. That looks like it might be Kevin Feige from Marvel. 
 
Those shoes RDJ is wearing are probably to give him more of a Tony Stark height for his character, as well as to get him into the shot without building a platform for him to walk on. 
 
The film format projector may be for a scene where he is watching old film stock footage, such as, in speculation, Cold War footage of Black Widow and Whiplash in action. 
 
He may be wearing furry slippers because when visitors walk on movie sets the production doesn't want the floor scuffed and messed up for the shots, so they give the nonessential guests on set slippers to walk around in, such as fluffy slippers or paper slip-ons. 
 
It's also always possible they're watching dailies on film stock in this way, but on Iron Man 2 I suspect they may not be watching their dailies in this way.
