    Iron Man

Character » Iron Man appears in 11210 issues.

Tony Stark was the arrogant son of wealthy, weapon manufacturer Howard Stark. Tony cared only about himself, but he would have a change of heart after he was kidnapped by terrorists and gravely injured. Pressured to create a weapon of mass destruction, Stark instead created a suit of armor powerful enough for him to escape. Tony used his vast resources and intellect to make the world a better place as The Invincible Iron Man. Stark's super hero identity led him to become a founding member of the Avengers.

Excellent thread! I'm glad someone is willing to argue for Iron Man on this website.

Glad you like it, some of these can be considered outliers and hard to actually quantify though.

Well as you can see I started on this about two years ago. Recently I decided to finish it up, and even add some of his best feats on top of that. Just to give people who would like to debate for him some counters to downplay I guess.

then your calculator must be bugging I guess

but one doesn't even need a calculator to know that 10^29 is 10^18 times greater than 10^11

we can of course use a calculator if you want

10^29 is greater than 10^18, but I was trying to get some more clear answers on the full equations. Originally I did a full equation something along the lines of

    1.25×10^29 = 1.25e + 29 =(1.25)(2.718282)+29=3.397852+29 =32.397852

and for what Iron Man did:

    1.72 x 10^11 Joule =172 000 000 000 joules

then I tried to check that here by directly comparing 1.72 x 10^11 and 1.25×10^29 https://byjus.com/greater-than-less-than-calculator/

It's not impossible that I messed up somewhere though

Pretty well done. Iron God busting a star is definitely something, alright.

    Thanks.

To be honest Iron God probably scales far above Star level, it's just impressive from the perspective of normal Iron Man expectations though.

What is this? Where did e go? Why are you adding 29 to 3.39...

and for what Iron Man did:

    1.72 x 10^11 Joule =172 000 000 000 joules

then I tried to check that here by directly comparing 1.72 x 10^11 and 1.25×10^29 https://byjus.com/greater-than-less-than-calculator/

Then you made an error because when I tried it, it showed the correct numbers.

I don't know why you would need that kind of calculator when

    1.25 x 10^29 = 125 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000

    1.72 x 10^11 = 172 000 000 000

    is 125 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 less than 172 000 000 000?

Also I just tested the calculator that you linked a few times, it does indeed say that 1.72 x 10^11 is greater than 1.25×10^29, but it's because it doesn't register that kind of formulation correctly. It sees these numbers as 1.72 x 10 vs 1.25 x 10, where the first is obviously greater. You need to be putting in 1.25e+29 and 1.72e+11 for correct answers in the future.

    You're welcome

e+ is just a different notation of x10^, meaning that 1e+1 = 1x10^1 = 10, or 10^100 = 1e+100 etc. If you have 10 raised to the power of something, it can be represented as e+power.

We don't actually know what destruction he caused across the galaxy other than what I talked about. I brought that up more in reference for Iron God's speed.

For scaling I was speaking of stuff like him fodderizing Silver Surfer without even having his armor on. He directly compared his cosmic power to Silver Surfer's and said he was far better with it.

Ah, I see. I didn't think it was as good as the black hole or Magneto feats, but damn that's not even mountain level lmao

I guess I could keep it in this thread just for being a flashy win and the fact that Terrax lost to Iron Man again.

    yes

knocking someone out of the solar system requires overcoming the sun's gravitational attraction which requires higher velocity

getting from Earth to the Moon merely requires overcoming Earth's gravitational attraction which is lower

I never really stopped updating/editing this thread, but at this point it's probably noteworthy enough for another tag on it lol Pretty much done for now though.

Wowie! Great updates! I've been away for a while, but it was a brilliant surprise returning to CV to see this masterpiece!

Great to see you! This is supposed to have enough for anyone to counter any Iron Man downplay that comes their way.

Might as well tag for the updates, DC fans and others will probably hate me for this. But I sure don't care lol They can cope, cause for the sake of this thread I'm putting anything that shows Iron Man's superiority.

All the imgur links towards the top of the thread have been updated or are new btw. There are also more sections and stuff.

@lazerbeak: base Iron Man isn't even a thing tbh. All standard armors are base and operate around similar levels at their best honestly.

Model Prime has more energy due to being one of the newer armors, but it was kinda underwhelming for Iron Man standards actually. The best part of it was it's regen and versatility, but they nerfed Model Prime's stats at times for some reason.

Model 70 is base right? I’m not sure, Optimus can legit punch through all armors besides Model Prime, Uru, Bleeding edge, Hulkbuster etc

I would consider any armor that isn't a buster suit "base", you do realize Model 70 is technically a newer model than Prime and Bleeding Edge right? Lol

I don't know anything about comic Optimus. Although it's kinda weird to say he could punch through the older armors, but not Model Prime. Model Prime only had one really good durability feat and a bunch of anti-feats that the classic armors would've no-sold. Tbh the only armor you mentioned with special durability would be the Uru armor cause it's basically the same material and enchantment as Mjolnir.

Hulkbusters are pretty bad most of the time in the comics. I think buster suits in general are pretty dumb since his normal suits should already be strong enough to fight Hulk, Thor etc. which is why I actually put two instances of normal armor beating Hulkbusters in this compilation: https://m.imgur.com/a/RZ0IWaN

The main things that Iron Man seems to improve with his standard armors are speed and stamina along with versatility. All the other differences seem to be marginal is what I'm saying.

What’s the feat the suit had? I mean Prime is really strong but I don’t see him punching through the heavy armors so yeah. Had no idea Model prime had anti feats though

and Model 70 is new? I swear I thought it was old

@lazerbeak: model 70 is the current armor pretty much.

The bulky buster suits have a terrible track record of easily getting torn apart by the intended targets. Up until the Celestial Hulkbuster, even the best Hulkbuster had no feat above city level. All in all, suits like that are definitely low-end for Iron Man. The imgur I just posted showed neo-classic Iron Man easily shrugging off punches from someone with the original Hulkbuster and then proceeding put the Hulkbuster down. Later the imgur shows Endo-sym ripping apart the World War Hulkbuster.

What’s the feat the suit had? I mean Prime is really strong

Model Prime was more hype than feats. This thread is not to talk about anti-feats so that's all I'm gonna say. You can see in the "general feats" section how it had good AP with repulsors and what not, but at the same time was getting cracked in 3 hits by Carol Danvers. That's not a good showing of Stark's durability lol and even against Hyperion it was getting cracked up too easily from a mere headbutt in my opinion.

The durability feat I was talking about was Model Prime tanking bullrushes from Annihilus while weakened. All of these Iron Man models scale off the same characters and have similarly good performances one way or another, which is why I wouldn't put Bleeding Edge or Prime too far above the old armors. Bleeding Edge has far less anti-feats than most armors though.
