War Machine has stated and shown to be strong enough to lift a tank which averages around 60 tons more or less. It's reasonable to believe Iron Man's armor is at least just as strong.

No, tanks don’t average at 60 tons since they can weigh much less than that. 60 tons is more of the maximum average a tank would weigh and is a weight of a big, heavy tank. The tank War machine was lifting doesn’t match the size of a 60 ton tank. Assuming War machine 6 feet and a few inches, when comparing his size with the tank’s, it doesn’t look like a 60 ton tank. The tank model he was lifting is smaller to the comparison of a 60 ton tank would. 60 ton is the weight of a heavy tank while after comparing War machine size with the tank it’s safe to assume it’s a light tank. Light tanks can weigh 8-15 tons.

The tank he referenced lifting isn't the same as the one he's shown lifting in the comic.

@wastelandman: Still I wouldn't go and say that the tank is going to weigh 60 tons. That's not the weight of an average tank.

In his first movie he lifted a car. A car that probably weighed about 3000 lbs. That was at 19-20% multiply that by 5 and he can lift 15000lbs or a little over 7 tons. That was mk3, mk2 might be a bit weaker maybe 5 tons. Mk2 was used for war machine in 2010, and by 2015 it jumped to 60 tons when Rodey lifted an army tank. In 5 years it multiplied by 12 in terms of strength, if we do the same for Tony than he should be able to lift 72 tons by Age of Ultron. He should be even stronger now.

Well, he is definitely weaker in comparison to his comic book counterpart, in terms of both physical traits and personality. Heck, even crippled Tony Stark is more stronger than MCU's Tony Stark. Just why I love comic book Iron Man more. When MCU's Tony Stark is ruining around in Iron Man 3 while acting like an insecure child, comic book Tony Stark continues kicking ass even in a wheelchair.

BE armor is in the same category as Thor and Hulk considering it's performance with Thanos. I'd place it just between them so above Thor and below Hulk. Thor in IW got one of the best strength feats in modern CBM's. So Iron Man with scaling is probably well into the 10,000s of tons or above.

15-20 tonner for regular armors

100+ tonner for IW armor

Strong enough to go toe to toe with Thor for a short time.

That was his most basic battle suit. The suit he used in the first Avengers movie was an easy 20-50 tonner. The suit from Age of Ultron was a 100 tonner and the Hulker Buster armour is 170-180 tonner since it equals Hulk's strength (in normal state).

Besides, MCU releases prelude comics between their movies. And Iron Man lifts heavy objects all the time. Even War Machine has lifted a 60 ton tank and that was a long time ago (before Age of Ultron)

@jumpstart55: In Age of Ultron, Iron Man lifted a 200 ton mini carrier and in Iron Man 3, one of his suits lifted a 3,000 ton crane. In the Hulk vs Iron man HB fight, Iron Man evened a punch from a running pissed off version of Hulk and Iron Man didn't even move, Hulk's one punch was enough to stop leviathan. Therefore, the force being released from Iron Man through one punch should be greater than 4000 ton.

A pre-AoU War Machine lifted a tank, which could easily weigh 40-50 tonnes. That was an old, outdated armour and Tony's armours have always been superior to Rhodey's. I'd put an IW/EG Tony as class 80-100.

I'd say as of now, a 100 tonner.

He really has improved.
