Iron Man Annual #5 Been my favorite Iron Man AND Black Panther story since I was in Junior High. Gave me first solid ideas of how I feel about heroism too.

Arguably the most underrated Iron Man story in the history of the character. Also doubles as my favorite Mandarin story.

Man, these are sweet, but not as sweet as Doomquest and The Five Nightmares.

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't read much solo Iron Man comics

Then I suggest checking out Matt Fraction's Invincible Iron Man series from 2008. It's a good place to start.
