Armor Vengeance
Wrecked Him? He Nearly Killed Him! is the first of two Iron Man tie-ins to the Avengers crossover Acts of Vengeance. The first issue, which leads directly into the second issue, features Iron Man going face to face with the Wrecking Crew's Wrecker. Dwayne McDuffie writes and Herb Trimpe draws.
This is one of the more average outings for the crossover with the fight itself being generic and nothing particularly interesting to fall back on. Iron Man vs. Wrecker seems like something that has been done before (and it kinda has) and McDuffie takes a more light-hearted and jovial approach to Iron Man which makes the tone of the book come across as basically just a low-rate armored Spider-Man wannabe.
With that said, the highlight would have to be the use of a former villain known as Chemistro who is now an employee working for Stark Industries. As with most reformed villains, Chemistro returned to crime without explanation, but here we get to see the guy attempting to be a better person and help Iron Man in his battle. He doesn't really have much to do but it's a little thing that makes the issue a bit better.
The issue itself is just run-of-the-mill stuff. It's not bad, but it's not great either. If I was to recommend an Iron Man issue to someone it wouldn't be this, but at the same time it's an issue you can read and not have to put much effort into it. It's just fluff. Inoffensive fluff. Not the best Acts of Vengeance tie-in by a longshot but nor is it the worst.
