Intriguing...
Cover:
Very cool colors and tone; I also like how it's somewhat related to the interior as well; it's always nice when there's at least some sort of correlation that you can look back on in years to come and remember what happened within the issue.
The Good:
I like the mysterious villain. I don't want to give too much away, so I'll simply say this: the way that they present this adversary is intriguing and certainly one of the definite pluses of this series so far. It makes you wish you didn't have to wait another month to pick up the next issue.
The Bad:
The art. Plain and simple, it's not horrendous nor ultimately too distracting, but it's not really good either. I feel that this tale could've been drawn much better by a different artist, making it easier on the eyes. I should, however, repeat that it isn't the worst I've ever seen, but it's certainly not the best either.
Overall:
I was pressured (sort of) into purchasing this and the first issue and I can't say that I'm disappointed. I'm glad I listened to the peer pressure and bought it and I'm very much looking forward to subsequent issues!
