Continuing on their quest to track down more shards of the shattered jewel, Inu-Yasha, Kagome, and Shippo meet a young girl named Nazuna fleeing from a horde of terrifying Spider-Head demons. As her father was killed by such demons, Nazuna is loath to accept Inu-Yasha's help. She insists on being returned to the temple where a kindly monk had taken her in after her father's death.

But unknown to Nazuna, something awful awaits them there... and Inu-Yasha's true nature is finally revealed. Then, a hideous ogress steals the bones of Kikyo, the priestess who "killed" Inu-Yasha all those years ago with the intention of bringing the dead priestess back to life!
