mtharman's Incredible Hulks #622 - God Smash Conclusion review

    Almost Clash of the Titans

What exactly makes an Incredible Hulk comic into one of the most action packed ass-kicking marathons that any rightful fan would love to see, is the successful fight scenes.

It’s that I love nothing more than to see some massive fist fighting moments that Marvel’s beloved green giant shares with another poor soul who’s somehow managed to get on Banner’s bad side. But within this issue, it seems that Banner’s bad side got him standing toe-to-toe with another massive Marvel character who’s probably in a powerhouse league that sits way above the Hulk’s own.

    Hercules great daddy dearest, Zeus

As if Greg Pak couldn’t develop this intense fight scene anymore exciting and perfect than what it already is. I can’t get over how perfectly he defined both Hulk’s and Zeus’s character and with the whole purpose of what they’re fighting over. But what also made this issue very intense and properly developed was the artwork coming from the multiple artists within this issue. Just about from beginning to “somewhat” end we see nothing more than a lot of shaky action scene moments, lightening power blows, and a finishing touch that shared a horrible results for the loser between Zeus and Hulk.

Even though we’ve seen Hulk at his best, we’ve seen him go against odds that were far bigger than him, but has he met his match by going against the Olympian God of all Gods?

No Spoilers, but a certified approval that this is one interesting fight scene that’s worth the three bucks and your time.

Even though I felt the supporting characters of Hulk’s side of the family found themselves somewhat….useless in a way, I can’t get over how properly developed this issue came out for itself within the action scenes. But that’s the thing though, I also can’t get over how the storyline wasn’t the one that was trying to catch the attention, it was the artwork mixed in with the actions scenes. For comics like that I do cherish, but with honesty it doesn’t give off a full five star rating for lack of meaning, morals, and proper writing.

Incredible Hulks #622 is something that holds a very exciting and special action scene between Hulk and Zeus that I highly recommend for any comicfan not to miss out on. Thank you for reading and I do hope that you enjoy this issue if you do decide to get it.

Much as the cover promises, this issue delivers on an epic smackdown between Zeus and the Hulk worthy of what people come to expect of the Incredible Hulk.  Greg Pak concludes this two-part adventure on the new Mount Olympus, and it turns out not to be a great deal more than a two-part action scene. However, this is the Hulk. Action is what people come to expect from the character, and Pak puts enough emotional behind it to sell it well.  The stories purpose seems to be more about serving as an ...

Despite being torned apart knowing this is the last issue of Paul Pelletier in charge of the Hulk, reading this issue was very cool because of the fantastic battle between Zeus and Hulk. That´s a clash that I never thought I would´ve see and it´s worthy of being remembered, ´cause the Hulk took a beating (perhaps the worst of his life). The best thing about this comic book is the art and the pretty colors: I think Pelletier reached such a maturity doing Guardians of the Galaxy, War of Kings and ...
