The Danger's Not Over & Things Are Gonna Get Crazy
The threat of the Plutonian may have been removed from Earth but the danger isn't over for Max Damage.
The Good
The confrontation between Max and the Paradigm is one I've waited for almost as long as one between Max and the Plutonian. In this book, Max is our guy. He's the one we're supposed to be rooting for. It's great to see how he handles himself, showing that he does have some brains in his head and isn't willing to simply go fist to fist with them. As the thoughts of rebuilding after the Plutonian's destruction arises, we see that there Max will soon face a new group of enemies.Mark Waid continues the story of the villain seeking redemption. I've been curious how far out he has the story planned out but clearly Max's tale is far from over. And wait until you see what happens with his partner, Headcase.
The Bad
It's probably too early to fully judge the new threat Max will face but based on the first impressions we're given, I'm not overly impressed. I do see the potential in them and it does provide for a different angle in the fight Max will have to face.I'm digging the artwork on the characters but I sometimes get distracted by the empty backgrounds. Often the characters are simply standing in front of a plain sky or in an empty room. It's not too much of a complaint as there were moments before in this series where the art really didn't work for me.
