Hell Yes!
I hate vampires. I just can't get into them. I've never liked a vampire movie, book, TV show, you name it. Don't even get me started on Twilight.
I LOVE THIS BOOK!
At first I thought it would be mediocre, and only picked it up at my wife's urging. Now I read it before I pass it on to her. This issue is the best yet. Batman's appearance is not overplayed, and he really only plays a cameo role to say the least. It would be tough to leave him out, as the war with the Vampires seems to be starting on his turf. Andrew is clearly the main character and resident bad @$$ in this book. It is also fun to see Batman clearly out of his depth, but trying to keep it together. He is not a vampire hunter, he's a detective. And as the story shows, that is not going to help him stop Mary and her minions.
My only problem with this book, is its to fast. There is not enough of it; you always want there to be another page. The art by Andrea Sorrentino is amazing. I've talked about it before, but there is no art that better suits a story on the market today. It's dark, sharp, but vague at the same time. Like you would imagine fast moving, but dangerous vampires to be.
The ending of this issue sets up a crossover to start with Justice League Dark, and ends a cliffhanger that seems to leave everyone completely screwed. The set up is not outrageous or over the top, but shows Fialkov's willingness to push the story over anything else.
I am already dreaming of the next issue. The highest praise I can give a book, is not that you should read it, but that you should already be reading it. So, if you're not reading I, Vampire, you should be.
