It's Never Simple With The Huntress
Huntress receives a tip of a container shipment leaving Naples heading for Gotham.
My Thoughts:Who else would DC get to write a six issue Huntress mini-series than Paul Levitz? The man knows how to writer Huntress. Not only that, he incorporates a serious topic into the story which results in a grand slam first issue. The Huntress seemingly finds herself at a crossroad with a crossbow.
While receiving a tip of a contraband shipment departing Naples for Gotham, she decides to investigate and put an end to it. What she finds, she definitely didn't bargain for. Upon opening the container she finds a bunch of females. I thought this issue was the perfect issue to put in a Huntress series. With her tenacious and aggressive approach to crime fighting, there's no doubt this serious reality of human trafficking will hit her especially hard. We see her take out her fury on the men responsible for this. The action scenes were fun and exciting which display the Huntress in all her glory.
Marcus To did an amazing job on the interior artwork. He displays a beautiful, strong and acrobatic Huntress who moved with such grace and beautify across his panels. I loved the soft elegant colors from Andrew Dalhouse which served as a nice contrast to the personality of the Huntress.
The issue is a quick and fun read which leaves you wanting more. It's to bad this will only last for six issues. Huntress is a character who deserves her own on-going series rather than being limited to a mini-series. I guess for now we'll all have to settle for six issues. At least they look like they'll be six awesome issues.
