The Hulk never really did "die" the worst ever happen was that he was sent off into space, due to Nick Fury.

Marvel would never kill a pay check like that. I mean if he "died" they would just publish more Hulk crap like they did when Cap died.  I think it would be a good idea to cryo-freeze Hulk/Banner for a couple years and keep him in a remote location and not have ANY Hulk for 5 years. Let the rest of the characters build up or make new ones, then have Hulk re-integrate into the MU and wreak havoc.

Gladiator was close to killing the Hulk twice during their confrontation!!!! First, by grabbing him and flying into space where he can't breath, and the second, was where Gladiator used his heat ray to burn through his chest to his vital organs and Hulk screamed like a good un!!!!!

Savage Hulk, in all his "Hulk Smash!"-ing, grammar mangling, purple trousered glory, can die tomorrow for all I care.  That era ended with Planet Hulk, and it would have stayed ended if not for Loeb's folly.  The Green Scar needs to become the one, true, primary Hulk.
