    The strongest there is!

Wow. Another great conclusion story spun by those wizards of Marvel entertainment. This issue was full of excitement and action and had me hanging on a thread with each turning of the page. As assumed, this is the climactic finalie to the red hulk saga, which started in Hulk #1. The whole series from start to end has followed this power house of unstoppable strength through turn after turn of action and suspense which left many fans diliberating, maybe this mystery Hulk could take out Bruce Banner. If you been following the series then you should be up to date on some rather miraculous developments, such as Betty Ross returning from the grave as the Red She-Hulk, Abomination being murdered by Red Hulk and then Rick Jones becoming the new and improved A-bomb, and the thing that's kept everybody glued to this particular series... who the heck is the Red Hulk.

Well, in the previous issue it was revealed that the Red Hulk was none other than Hulk hating General Thadious "Thunderbolt" Ross! After faking his own death to through off any suspicion he revealed his identity and plans to do away with the Hulk forever, even going so far as to become that which he hated. This issue features the final battle between red and green, as Ross' plans come full circle and he infiltrates the white house to declare the Green Hulk defeated and himself," the strongest there is"!, when low and behold Bruce Banner shows up to put him in his place. A vicious battle insues between the two as the other Hulks watch as the dual titans duke it out. Red and green blood is shed throughout this issue as the two finally discover who is the strongest! As the issue comes to an end it appears as though the day is Ross', but think again. If you think Marvel would let one of it's golden boys go, then you obviously are new to comics. It ends with Banner and Steve Rogers visiting a maximum security base built to conceal hulk like enemies on the gamma test base where the Hulk was born, Inside, the Red Hulk waits to talk to the two.

This issue gets a 4.5 in my book. The story was perfect and the action was phenominal! The way a good comic book should be, a nice even helping of action and dialogue. Writer Jeff Loeb's series has really contended well with other titular titles on the shelves, and Ed McGuinness' art throughout the series has been outstanding. Plus McGuinness front to back cover for this collosal issue is hands down amazing, showing fans exactly what they want to see, the two Hulks duking it out! Jeff Loeb really worked hard to cement the Red Hulk's reputation as a Marvel contender and was rewarded with a great honor for his hard work with making Red Hulk just as famous as his green counterpart in such short time, this november in the pages of the Avengers, the Red Hulk will be joining the team. So, if your fan of Ol' Bruce Banner then I suggest you get to you local comic book shop and pick it up before it flies off the racks! As always, nice readings and enjoy!

The Story - It´s the conclusion of World War Hulks, as General "Thunderbolt" Ross a.k.a Red Hulk tangles for the last time with Bruce Banner a.k.a Green and Only Hulk - the strongest there is. The Good - It´s very nice to see a Hulk totally merged and dominated by Bruce Banner, not the beast, the raging Hulk, but an inteligent and strategist mind behind all this muscles. Not even in the Peter David/Dale Keown and Gary Frank era (when the Thulk was tagging along with the Pantheon) was Bruce Bann...

Synopsis  This brings a close to the World War Hulks story line. I wasn't around for the entire ride but caught the last few issues from Hulk and The Incredible Hulk. I haven't been a fan of the Hulk but these last issues may have turned me into a fan. If they keep up with this much action, I may have to add this to my weekly pull list. The Good  This goes without saying ... the art by Ed McGuinness! His photo-realistic pencils and the detail work by Mark Farmer make this book some serious eye c...
