Wanted to like it but...
I'm not really liking this first story arc or the writer/editors. First of all, How did Howard the Duck merge with the Nexus of all Realities when it is already merged with the Man-Thing. How did this book make it not only past the writer's desk but to publication with that big of a continuity error. Also why is scout a gold color when the the power cosmic made Norin Radd (and Scout got her poweres from a piece of Norin Radd) mad him a silver color. I know the power cosmic has different effects on different harolds but wouldn't it make sense that since a piece of the Surfer that gave her the same powers as Norin Radd should give her the same kind of metallic skin? especially since it was a part of this metallic skin that she got her powers from. Also characters like Shocket Racoon, Linda the Duck, and Scout are just female versions of already existing characters. That's enough ANAD Marvel, it's disrespectful to make just hand-me-down versions of established mantles for females and minorities. If you want diversity it would best be done making good original characters.
Now for what gave this review 3 stars instead of 2. The first three issues contained a Gweenpool (as much as it may sound like it, she is not a hand-me-down mantle) story that was awesome. If the writers would have gone with this idea as the story arc of the first five issues I would have at least given it 4 stars. Instead they went with the error filled, disrespectful story line that makes up the bulk. I will be reading the next issue because it's a Squirrel Girl cross over, but unless it really impresses me, I'm done.
