DC is making a heavy push into the world of television and now they're adding yet another character to the CW: Hourman. According to TV Guide, Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz will serve as executive producers through Lin Pictures, a production company with Warner Bros. TV. Additionally, Michael Caleo is tackling the script.

    No Caption Provided

Hourman centers on a "brilliant yet troubled" pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that he can see glimpses of tragic events about to occur one hour into the future. "Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way," the network says.

This comes after news of CW also looking to add a show about the Flash (which will stem from Arrow) and DC is planning on creating a show about James Gordon over at Fox.

So, who is Hourman? Check out Comic Vine's page for the character to learn all about him! Viners, is this a show you're excited for or would you rather see them bring someone else to your TV?

OH JOY OF JOYS!!!! YES!!!! OH MAN I HOPE THIS MEANS WE EVENTUALLY GET A JSA SHOW!!!

Okay probably a bit too much to hope for, but I want a CLASSIC JSA show if that does happen. With a team EXACTLY like this one if possible

    No Caption Provided

Also I found a pretty good redesign for Hourman that could work well with the show

Anyway, this looks good. I mean: minor heroes on TV, Big Superheroes on the Big Screen.

I think this could work. @jayso4201 Flash is going to be in a few episodes this season and then they'll decide if the show is a go, I think.

I think that taking over TV (with Agents of SHIELD starting to become less and less liked over time) is the smartest thing DC can do. Its genius.

Remember when there was going to be a Wonder Woman show? Hourman is clearly more marketable than she is.

Wonder Woman needs to be a movie character.

Smaller-time characters on TV, big time characters on movies.

They've having a backdoor pilot for The Flash late in this season of Arrow. Depending on how people like that episode and stuff will determine whether Flash actually happens or not. But I think that if its done right, there won't be a problem getting his own show. :)

This seems really interesting and I'm glad DC's acknowledging the relatively minor characters. Hourman's power set would make for some good TV.

This is honestly a surprise to me. Hourman is probably one of the last heroes i would've expected. Never really read up on Hourman (loved the JSA though), but i guess this is the perfect reason to start!

I am a huge DC guy, but I have to say... WHATTHEHECK!?!?

A JSA show would be great, but a show about Hourman??? Out of all the characters they have... kinda weird.

Animal Man would be cool, if they did a weird take on it like the New 52 version or Morrison!

Suicide Squad would be also great!

Very happy to see DC moving fast on the TV shows. With Marvel beating them in movies it's a very smart move. I've always been interested in Hourman but never really read any of his stories. I'd be up for watching an Hourman TV show though. Hopefully it's connected to Flash and Arrow. Now if only they'd bring in the Question!!!

@g_man: This is cool, even though I don't know much about Hourman except that he was in the JSA. I will still watch it, because I love tuning in comic book shows. I even watched Human Target and Painkiller Jane. The sad things like these two shows will probably not last. I think it will live longer as a JSA show. They are really taking a risk with this one.

@k4tzm4n: You also forgot to mention that DC is also producing a Constantine TV series for NBC.

Good to see them taking some progressive steps, but I'll take this A LOT more seriously when I see it. Sorry for the cynicism, but I don't even know if this will be any good and hopefully they don't turn it into a Young and the restless Soap drama.

Not feeling the Hourman TV Show idea. I watch Smallville and now I am watching the Arrow and I love it. I just feel they could come up with a better idea. Why don't they do a tv show based on Black Lightning or even Constantine. Those two would make a better TV show than Hourman in my opinion.

Black Lightning would be cool. Static makes a lot of sense on a show geared towards young girls... I'm surprised more minority heroes are not popping up actually.

Heck, why not Vixen and the Red fighting the Rot or the Question or Vibe?

    Hmmm...not feeling this choice

Gordon and Constantine yes, Hourman? -- not so much

Should be interesting how this playsout though -- the concept sound interesting.

And I agree that Wonder Woman should be for the big screens and lesser known characters for TV -- just wouldn't have thought (nor picked for that matter) Hourman for a series though

So he doesn't have super strength or anything like he does in the comics? He is just a guy who can see into the future like that Nic Cage movie (Next I think it was called). So they are just sort of using the name like the TV show Mutant X did.

I'm fine with the seeing an hour into the future, but I hope they add more elements from the comic too.

Wait so he doesn't have superstrength for an hour? He can just see an hour into the future? Not gonna lie, I'm not feeling this choice at all. There are other lesser known DC characters which are much better candidates for a TV show.

The current plan. Which eliminates all of that except Arrow and Flash.

Most people I know who don't read comics didn't know about Green Arrow. They thought he and Hawkeye were one and the same.

And Flash is a well-known character, but they would need to have at least one or two relatively well-known characters starring in shows before they start working on the less-known ones.

That's a weird character choice for a TV show, but whatever. I love the JSA and DC sure as hell doesn't seem to care about the orginal superhero team (because a 5 year timeline is better than 75 years of superhero history)

Hourman is an interesting character but the concept for the show doesn't look that good.
