Heroes TV Movie Is Not Happening
Earlier this summer, there was some hope of the possibility of a TV movie or mini-series to wrap up any loose ends of the show. Now it looks like that's not going to happen.
EW reported that a "key source" informed them that NBC is not moving forward with a movie.
THere is still a tiny sliver of hope for Heroes fans. There's still a chance that perhaps we could see some sort of follow up on the internet. It's pretty clear that we won't see it happen on NBC during the 2010-11 season.
Will the actors still be available or willing to wrap things up? Will fans still care if and when it ever happens?
" Not losing any sleep over this. The series was going downhill since the end of season 1. "agreed; I Loved season 1 and liked season 2-everything from that point on outright sucked. The series should have ended after season 1 with Peter and Sylar's deaths- instant poetry.
It really ended for me with that first series, two was so so and Three was dire, never bothered with the last one.
Movie? I thought the whole thing was really done by the time it got canceled. It was a cool show though, I was following it
this is the perfect time for a 2 hour movie. It wouldnt even need people to have watched the show to understand. Just "These people with powers just revealed themselves, and the world is dealing". At the end they could either all die, or Mind wipe the world, or Hiro can timetravel and make it so they never told. SOMETHING!!!
i want this to end. Correctly.
I liked the first season and thought it had the propensity to be good and the start of serialized comic book stories on television, but then in the season 2 premiere the writers showed that they didn't understand what ramifications were. The lack of finality ruined the show for me.
There can be a comic book follow-up to Heroes like Buffy series. Seriously, a movie would not do good because it has so many characters, plus including new ones. Maybe a mini-series would work.
lol i didnt even know it was cancelled....but if the sarah connor chronicles got cancelled then this sure as hell deserves it
Totally agree with those people saying the series declined after the 1st season. It never recovered from the rushed writing done before the writers strike hit. The bad plot decisions sent the series into a tail spin.
I have no desire to see a TV movie. Heroes is dead to me.
The last thing TV needs at the moment is more Heroes. The wife and I avidly watched through season 3, even though it was getting so pathetic it required drinking games to make it interested. We had, every time someone mention "I'm special" drink and everytime someone dead reappeared take a shot, we'll just say we more shots than we should have. The TV series never had the heart or creativity to kill anyone for good. The concept was good, but the writers and actors couldn't carry it. Goodbye Heroes, you probably ran 2 seasons too long.
...no more heroes...IT'S A GREAT GAME FOR THE WII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but seriously sylar was getting annoying...every episode was of him switching sides like John Kerry doing back flips while playing donkey kong...
i think they should finish it off, just for closure. a show like this wouldnt last long anyway. maybe a maximum of 4 or 5 seasons. but they messed it up sooner.
couldnt expect it to last as long as a show like smallville. but i liked it anyway. GIVE PETER HIS POWERS BACK!
I watched it from beginning till end, stuck with the show through thick and thin. Now though, I don't care if they ever do a movie or not, kind of let it go with the last finale. If they did one I'd watch it for sure as long as it didn't interfere with anything else I religiously watch :))
The writers don't deserve another chance. First season was alright, the first half of the third season was pretty good too, but second season sucked, along with the second half of the third and the fourth was plain atrocious.

the first season was great but then the writing for the show went in the trash watched all four seasons but i sure they would have messed up the movie
It's okay just read MJS' Rising Stars, which after reading you will laugh at yourself for ever thinking that heroes was cool.Heroes is kinda like that haircut you had in high school which you thought was super awesome.
i loved heros but im a bigger WWE fan and the time slot during the first couple of seasons killed it for me
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOT MY HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!
well, I feel better now, have'nt missed that much.
Since all favorite charaters kept dying or changing their aligence.
i hate when they do this. I think they should have a closing episode for shows like this, wont it sell more on dvd if people know there is an ending and not just a cliffhanger? It sucks when this happens to shows!
I think it's not needed, but it'd be nice to have some closure
I think in a year or two someone will get on that bandwagon and write a script
and who knows? maybe it'll even get made!
I would love to see the Specials like a year after Claire "outted" them on tv
just to see what happens next
.....oh, it becomes the X-Men?
ok, nevermind then
I watched up to season three, half way into it I stopped because no one would watch it with me. It was too doom and gloom and had lost the fun that went along with it in season one. And I missed a few episodes and thought I couldn't catch up. Plus I kept hearing bad stuff about it.
So I sort of see Season One as its own self contained story, like the Watchmen graphic novel. No matter what else they tried to do with the series it was never the same as Season One, even though it had the same characters and was meant to be a continuation. For me it wasn't and Season One ended with most things wrapped up nicely.
So I have already felt closure. I have already said goodbye to the show. Maybe if I had watched every episode up to its cancellation I would feel differently. But I don't need a movie finally.
Bummer :/ I really liked this show, a lot. People don't seem to be able to give it some slack, and it deserves some, cause it was hit pretty hard with the writers strike. Most shows that are continuing episodes got hit pretty hard by the strike. Really screwed with the continuation of the stories. Season 2 of heroes was just a short little 12 parter, or whatever it was, and it just totally ruined the flow of the show, but you sort of had to try to look past it.
I just really liked the characters, even if many of them were overacted and stuff, it was a comicbook type show, so they kind of worked.
Bah. This and the end of Heroes rates right up there with the closing of Iron Lore Entertainment which meant there would never be a Titan Quest 2.
The writers strike was the kiss of death for Heroes. It lost its momentum with people after that and the writing was never as good.
