Herbert 'Herb' Powell is the son to both biological parents Abraham 'Abe' J. Simpson and Gaby, as Homer's father had an affair with her at the carnival. Just before Homer was born, Herb is been taken into the Shelbyville Orphanage as Grampa Abe Simpson discovers to his son Homer that Herb is his half-brother, Also an Uncle to Homer's children Bart, Lisa and Maggie.
Herb makes his appearance in Season 2 Oh Brother, Where Art Thou as Homer and his family meet up with him and discovers that his half-brother is a millionaire as he owns his multi-million dollar company known as Powell Motors a business that designs cars and motor vehicles. While Herb helps Homer to design a car for him, his company is going bankrupt as Homer's Vehicle 'A Car Designed by Homer' cost him a fortune under $82,000, Later that day Herb is completely broke that his company makes charges by Homer's Designed Car and he is completely mad with Homer that he never wants anything to do with him anymore.
As One Year has passed in the next Season 3 Brother Can You Spare Me Two Dimes, Herb is completely homeless and discovers Homer receives a cheque for $2000 at the Award Ceremony. As Herb takes a trip to Springfield and visits The Simpson Family without forgiving Homer, Herb comes up with his brilliant scheme by coming up with an invention known as a 'Baby Translator' (When infants go gaga, sensing Herb knows what they are saying and do mean). As the Baby Translator is been sold by this wealthy executive, Herb is happy with his life that he is rich again and starts to forgive The Simpson Family buy giving them with gifts, including his half-brother Homer that he loves soo much!.
