Gunnar and his twin sister Vivian are the children of Lady Death and Ravenheart. As infants, both were kidnapped by the sorcerer Sèance. But while Vivian found a loving home, Gunnar ended up living on the street. At thirteen, he discovered his powers and soon became a renowned thief. His abilities caught the attention of Halo, which imprisoned Gunnar to siphon his enchanted blood. Gunnar escaped Halo's nightmarish labs and waged a one-man war against the corporation until he was reunited with his sister and joined The Sworn.
