The Dark Phoenix Saga
The Mansion had been part of the Hellfire Club for many decades, even in recent times when most of the memebers where wealthy mutants. The mansion played a key role during the Dark Phoenix Saga, as X-Men-member Phoenix was tricked into entering the place by Mastermind, where she was brainwashed in believing she was also a member of the club. The X-Men intervened but where defeated and captured inside the mansion. After the Phoenix became Dark Phoenix, the X-Men where freed and the place was wrecked following the ensuing battle.
Hide Out
Afterwards, the mansion was used for a number of years as residence of the Hellions, and for social parties but had been abandoned some years later. It briefly served as a hideout for the Avengers during Dark Reign.
It also briefly served as a hideout for a group of All-New X-Men after Cyclops' hideout-base, the New Charles Xavier School for Mutants (the former Weapon X Facility) was abondonned by the team.
Uncanny X-Men
After the events of Secret Wars, Magneto's lead X-Men find out that the mansion is once more in use by the club.
