A Quiet Pint
This is not the con man artist or the easy mouth from London Constantine, the character printed in this book is the wizard bad ass that can´t catch a break,´cause he´s binded with demons and hell forever. Only bad karma could explain that after a "lung opener" you get hit by a 4x4 and submitted to a neuro surgery while fighting in your "astral form" to discover which demon is going after you this time. Not enough? Two pins in your knee cap, an angry momma with a knife and a couple of crazy scientists with desires of demonic proportions oughta do the trick. Only Nurse Marie can ease Constantine´s worried mind for 3 months as he recovers from his wounds and treatments. This is a nice chapter in Constantine´s life, told with the unique perspective of a patient lying in a hospital bed (what´s new for the guy, I think). Si Spencer´s rich narrative and amazing dialogues set things in motion, while Murphy and Stewart put smiles in our eyes with brilliant precision. An amazing beggining.
