Story
In a Church, Father Peter Atwelll's congregation sumits to the will of The Beast and Crucify Father Atwell in the middle of the church.John goes to the Cutter Pub to drown some of his sorrows as the Beast possesses the staff and patrons around him,The Beast taunts John saying he will be the last to die before throwing him out of the Pub window. John thinks back to the final moments in the hotel with all the other magicans leaving him and The Phantom Stranger's arrival, he hounds John for being so quick to act and too slow to question what he was being told.Then he sees Angie,he tries to comfort her by stating Jason has been dead since the whole Black Flowers incident but she kicks him in hte crown jewels and storms away.Back in the present John gets on his feet as the Beast possesses more humans while continuing to taunt him and forcing them to set each other on fire as he passes.As he sits alone John decides to use a very fimilar solution to speak to his tormentor,he uses a razor blade cuts his rist, loses conscieness and wakes up face to face with the demonic visage of The Beast.The creature states he sits where all minds touch, leaving mankind at its mercy.Meanwhile, Gemma tries to pawn some jewlery she took from Fredericks the pawnbroker recongnises that he sold similar pieces to a Scrape Gills he gets ready to call the police when John manages to possess him giving the command "Vivimancy. You're gonna have to raise....".The beast reveals it used the Lukhavim to trick John into thing the Shadow Dog was the true threat,John grudgingly acknowledges the cleverness of its plan noting that all of the legends about the Dog would naturally be full of madness and death as it only ever appeared in the wake of the Beast's coming.The beast then begins to consume John,Gemma arrives at the hotel John was staying at to discover her Uncle curled up on the floor in a pool of his own blood.

Overview
Carey continues to craft a perfect Hellblazer tale with many twists and turns.Even using some elements from previous Great hellblazer Storylines, he has used many characters from several runs that left loose ends and helps their creations grow.
